My main area of interest is to encourage and assist the adoption of open source enterprise systems in the UK. Having held senior positions within finance and financial systems within a global telecom company and a global bank, I've had experience with complex large scale systems. As an accountant, my focus has been on the financial systems and the processes that drive financial transactions.
I'm a qualified accountant with a strong background in financial and management accounting. Other skills include project management, process engineering, and various IT skills such as programming in java enterprise (jboss) and database management (oracle, postgresql, mysql, ms-sql)
My experience with OSS includes being a founder of the Adempiere open source project (currently #7 on Sourceforge) and other open source projects and as a user of open source for 16 years.
