The ODF Toolkit Project

Why is this new project is important? Last year, the OpenDocument Format (ODF) was approved by the ISO as the international standard for office data. Besides OpenOffice.org, many applications implement the open standard. Users, including governments, benefit by saving money and intellectual property: with the ODF, there is no vendor lock in. There is choice and innovation.

With this project, we are going further and encouraging all software developers to join in, implement, and enhance the code which we have developed to use ODF. We challenge you to take the code beyond the office suite paradigm and make something new!
