OpenForum Europe is again delighted to be supporting Linux World Expo , the premier UK event for Open Source Software, and which runs at Olympia, London on the 25th and 26th October 2006.

OFE will be:-
- Organising the Business Advice Centre in partnership with Open Advantage
- Managing the LPI examination classes in partnership with LPI for level 1,2 and 3 (invitation only), Ubuntu and MySQL
- Supporting the associated UK Linux and Open Source Awards 2006
The
Business Advice Centre is located on stand A24. It will provide
unbiased, independent advice on how to buy software and support in the
mixed software economy as it promotes an open competitive market for IT
users. It will also be showing a range of demonstrations, including
Certified Open and ECDL for StarOffice 8 . Experts from both
OpenForum Europe and Open Advantage will offer advice including using
case studies from both the private and public sector.
LPI to Offer half price Certification Exams at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo 2005, London, UK
The Linux Professional Institute will offer LPIC-1 (101 and 102) exams free to LinuxWorld London conference delegates, October 25-26, 2006. Trade show attendees will pay a reduced fee of £40 to write the exams during the conference, rather than the regular price of £80. They will also run LPIC-3, for invited candidates only, for free.
For
the first time in the UK, LPI will provide the Ubuntu exams which will
be discounted to £50 and the MySQL exams at £60 both being 50%
discounts.
All exams will be offered at 10 - 11:30 a.m. and 1.30 – 3:00 p.m. each day in the LPI Examination Rooms, which are located on the lower ground floor in Olympia 2. Candidates must pre-register on the LPI registration website https://www1.lpi.org/en/register.html to receive an identification number. All exam candidates should bring valid photo identification and their LPI ID number to the exam lab. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or credit card.
LPI is an
official sponsor of LinuxWorld, internationally, and will be
participating in the LinuxWorld Expo where LPI's staff will meet
attendees at the exam rooms and on OpenForum Europe's stand, No. 24.
LPI is represented in the UK by
OpenForum Europe www.openforumeurope.org which
will be giving advice on Linux and Open Source Software to business,
government and education visitors during the conference.
